The 7th largest car manufacturer in India, Honda Siel Cars India Limited came into existence when the Honda Motors Company of Japan presented a partnership deal in December 1995 to Siel Limited, a company owned by Sriram Group. The initial vision was to deliver the 'Honda car technology and car models to the Indian market', which now has shifted to 'offer the higher quality products to the Indian market'. The current president and CEO of the joint venture is Mr. Mashiro Takadegawa. Honda Siel believes in providing the '3S facility' which stands for 'Sales, Service and Spares', to the dealers, that's why Honda Siel has a dealership of 120, in 71 cities in 19 states and 3 union territories. Now, they are planning to increase the dealership to 160 by the end of 2014.

Honda Seil Cars India Limited set up their first manufacturing plant with an investment of Rs 450 crore in 1997 at Greater Noida. This manufacturing plant was spread over 150 acres of land. The plant actually had the capacity of manufacturing 30,000 cars annually which thereafter increased to 50,000 annually because of the two-shift. It has been further increased to 100,000 cars annually. This expansion process also included the expansion of the area covered by the plant. This increase was required so as to meet the increasing demand for the Honda products in the market as Honda Siel has sold 55,884 units during April 2009 to February 2010, which was 45,052 cars in the same period last year, which means a 24 percent increase in sales. Currently Honda Siel Cars India Limited produces five cars in total which include the Honda Accord, Honda City, Honda Civic, Honda Jazz (which are manufactured in India) and the Honda CR-V which is fully imported from Japan. Honda Siel Motors is expected to launch their four more models by the end of the year 2011 namely the Honda CR-V in a diesel engine model, Honda Jazz 1.5, Honda Brio and Honda TIF.
