India's relationship with the Rolls Royce Company has been very deep rooted. Right back to the 1930's when Rolls Royce started the production of the 'Gipsy Engine'. Though this engine was used in the first Indian Air Mail service by Tata group, this company definitely marked it presence in India. For manufacturing engine for the aeroplanes and fighter planes for almost 40 years, this company turned its face towards the automobiles in India and changed the whole scene of the Indian automobile industry but due to some unpredictable circumstances the company has to leave the automobile market in India and has to back to the 'aero engine market'. This company7 currently holds a partnership venture with the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited for the production of the aero engine. The company recently marked its comeback in Indian automobile market after 50 years in the year 2008.
Rolls Royce Company produces only luxury cars and currently there are only three models available in India namely Rolls Royce Drophead, Rolls Royce Ghost and Rolls Royce Phantom. All of the above cars are imported as a CBU in the Indian market. The price range of these cars varies from Rs 1 crore to Rs 5 crore 'only' (no pun intended), but then didn't I tell you that this company produces only Luxury cars 'only'. There is no doubt that these cars might cost you a fortune before you can proudly take any of those car in your garage but then owing a Rolls Royce isn't really a royal and exceptional experience? All the product of this company is a combined effort of hard craftsmanship and unique blend of refinement. No doubt that the name Rolls Royce Company is definitely legendary.
