Hummer has always been associated with the trucks since the year 1992. The initial thought process was of AM General Motors, South Bend, Indiana. Later on General Motors purchased this brand. The Detroit based General Motors after acquiring this brand started off with mainly three vehicles namely Hummer H3, Hummer H2 and Hummer H1. the recent news about this company was that a Chinese company claimed that it has purchased this Hummer. The news proves to be true but then due the reason that government approval were pending. Ultimately this Chinese company failed in acquiring Hummer. There were many attempts made many bigger brands to try and acquire Hummer but all attempts were failed. Now this truth was spread like a wildfire that this company has been bankrupted. So each and every bigger brand came to acquire this company but none of the deal worked out. Even the company itself was trying to sell it in order to gain the relative profits in its misery. But then all the attempts failed and the company finally made an announcement on 7th April 2010 that this company will be shut down. Also that this company will be offering all the 2200 vehicles that are there in the manufacturing plant in order gain rich rebates out of them. This Brand has manufactured only five models in its entire lifetime namely Hummer HX, Hummer H1, Hummer H2, Hummer H3 and Hummer H6. This company has been criticised heavily for many reasons and who knows may be that is the reason behind the closure of this company. The strongest criticism was that these vehicle were bigger than the usual size of SUV and still they were called SUV's. It has also been considered that this company has been a true symbol of ecological irresponsibility. Besides some of the logical comments there are also some illogical criticism. One amongst them was that these vehicles has received the maximum number of traffic tickets in a year and also that these are one of the irresponsible vehicles in town.
