GM India refuses foraying in to LCV section at this time







Well known car manufacturer General Motors (GM) India on Monday announced that it will not make entry in the cargo light commercial vehicle (LCV) section for the time being and in its place will concentrate on passenger multi-purpose vehicle.

GM India Vice President, Corporate Affairs, P Balendran stated, “We will launch Enjoy MPV, which can be utilized for commercial apps and can be classified as LCV group. But there are no proposals for pure cargo LCV at the moment.”

GM President and Managing Director Lowell C Paddock also said that General Motors (GM) India is optimistic on passenger vehicles with a few commercial apps and is open to chances in the section.

“In the Indian market, Chevrolet Tavera is also utilized for commercial actions,” he added on the sidelines of Chevrolet Sail-U-VA launch here.

General Motors (GM) India, which sold around 78,000 vehicles till the month of October, is proposing to sell one lakh vehicle units in 2012 with three fresh launches.
