Hyundai has made India quite impatient and excited with its 2012 New York Auto Show-debuted next generation crossover. The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe has been designed to make it look urban by the inclusion of the Hyundai Fluidic design. Earlier this year, leaked images of the Santa Fe had already succeeded in inducing excitement about the Korean carmaker’s upcoming launch.
If the looks of the Santa Fe is concerned, it quite resembles the Veloster and in some ways the facelift version of the Genesis. The car is to be launched sometime earlier next year. Several markets in the global domain also recognize the car with the name ix45.
As per the images available till now, the crossover is to feature a 3rd seating row as well. The images point towards the inclusion of stretched headlights and prominent creases, which give the Santa Fe a much sportier look. The speculations of the features to be added include a knee airbag, lane departure warning system, Blue Link Infotainment system and a smart parking assist.
According to the leaked images of the car available on the internet, the exteriors and interiors of the car look to be quite promising. Now since the automaker didn’t reveal anything about its ‘under the hood’ features, the question arises about the heart of the car. Is it powerful enough to bring in the missing fire to the crossover?
Well! The speculated engine specs justify so.
Rumors are rife that the Santa Fe’s engine has been made more fuel-efficient and powerful. The carmaker has to do this to survive the tough competition in the market. The upcoming car is to feature the existing (but more powerful & efficient) V6 4-cylinder unit. The Korean manufacturer is being expected to include a 2.0L Turbo powerhouse capable of delivering 274bhp. All we can do now is just wait for further updates of the upcoming crossover.
