While most of the people are playing the guessing game for the new SUV EcoSPort from Ford, the company has finally revealed that they are planning to roll it out in February 2013 from their Chennai plant. The company has also started to recruit about 1200 employees this year to comprehend with its expansion plan. For now, Brazil is the only market that has received Ford EcoSport and now its India’s turn.
Mr. Michael Boneham, MD Ford India, Joe Hinrichs, president Ford Asia Pacific and Mr. Joginder Singh, Executive director Ford Business had recently talked with the Tamil Nadu’s chief minister Ms. Jaylalitha and offered her invitation to take part in the launch of Ford EcoSport in Feb 2013. They also shared their recruitment plans for about 1200 employees.
We have already seen the wonders Duster has done for Renault India in terms of sales, the newly launched Quanto is also doing quite good and has already crossed about 5000 booking mark within the three weeks of its launch. This upcoming trend shows that Indians are getting more inclined towards the bigger cars and Ford EcoSPort is sure to do some good for the Ford attributing to its good looks, competitive price and great mileage offered by the award winning 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine. this vehicle could be a table turner for the Ford in Indian market.
