Mahindra and Mahindra have numerous reasons to celebrate. Earlier, Mahindra XUV500 had set an advance booking record of 7200 units at its re-launch just within the span of 5 days. And now, Mahindra XUV500 has given one more reason to Mahindra and Mahindra to celebrate. The Mahindra XUV500 has passed the crash test of Australian New Car Assessment Program or ANCAP, and is going to be launched at the end of this month in that country.
Earlier this year in Australia, Mahindra XUV500‘s test models had been launched. According to the rules, every car has to collect each and every necessary and mandate certificate. Moreover, the most important point to keep in mind before the launchis to clear the ANCAP which is a must in that country. Unfortunately, Mahindra XUV500 could not clear the ANCAP test.However, the car performed well on numerous grounds. Mahindra XUV500 has been awarded 4 star rating in terms of safety and overall earned 26 points out of 37 in the crash test.
In the side impact test, the car made a bingo and earned 16 points out of 16. Also, Mahindra XUV500 got 10 points out of 16 in the frontal impact test. If a company wants to launch their vehicle then for each and every all wheel drive variant, it is necessary to clear the ANCAP test. Antilock brakes (ABS), Electronic brake distribution (EBD), side airbags, electronic stability control (ESC) and Dual frontal airbags are the standard equipments which are required in a vehicle. There are several other SUVs that performed really well in the ANCAP test, which includes the likes of Audi Q5, Kia Sportage and Volvo XC60 with overall scores of 35.21, 35.1 and 36.53 respectively.
