The Hybrid system is tortuously packed within the vehicle so as not to affect the load capacity or versatility of the E class in any manner. The electric motor is mounted inside the 7G TRONIC PLUS transmission. The gear box consists of a torque converter for the wet clutch system, this allows the Internal combustion engine to be disengaged entirely via the clutch and maintain electric only drive for the shorter span of journey. This helps in boosting the economy. The integration has been done so perfectly that the gear adds only 65mm more to the total length of the transmission.

Deliveries are scheduled to start in November later this year.
