Maruti’s new 2011 Swift still faces delayed launches; however, this won’t last for long. The new Swift could hit markets by next month according to unconfirmed reports. Like the current Swift car, the new one will also be available in both diesel and petrol variants. The refreshed hatchback is touted to have better fuel economy than the present Swift.
It will also feature many cosmetic changes like powerful and bigger tail lights and headlights. This Swift will also be powered by their K series engine. The K12 engine is expected to deliver a max power of 90bhp, more than the present Swift’s. Since the introduction of the K series motors, they have crossed 10 lakh units, as they are ideal for Indian roads.
The petrol powered Swift, will have a mileage of 20kmpl, according to ARAI certifications. This is 2.1kmpl higher than the current Maruti Swift. Meanwhile, the diesel powered Swift also offers an increased mileage of 23.8kmpl that is higher by 2.8kmpl from its current variant. The 2011 diesel Swift variant will be outfitted with a 1.3 litre DDiS engine.
