Nissan Evalia Facelift Launch This Year

Nissan Evalia, that MPV which had most of the buyers from fleet owners rather than private customers, is now announced to receive major revamp in this year, said a source from industry.

However, the Nissan Evalia too received a facelift last year, just one year after the launch. And now another in the pipeline seems the Japanese carmaker wants to score more on badge by playing it as a new ace of affordable commuting in the time of rising car-ownership cost.

Days back, Nissan too gave us the Datsun, budget-brand, with the first product as hatchback GO. With the good responses from the penetration in mass segment, GO Plus a MPV is also touted to be rolled out by the second half of this year in India.

Nissan Evalia Facelift Launch This Year

Hopefully, Nissan Sunny facelift is taking a stand in the queue for its launch to happen in the coming times of 2014. Explaining its details, Kenichiro Yomura, President of Nissan India Operations and Managing Director and CEO of Nissan Motor India Private Limited (NMIPL), said, “The company could have done much better in India than what it has achieved so far. But things will soon change as volumes are set to go up with the launch of Terrano late last year and Datsun GO last month and new models.”

He continued, “The company is revamping its product portfolio. This will see Nissan introduce an upgraded Sunny sedan possibly by middle of the year and Datsun Go Plus in the second half this year. We will also be launching a totally redone utility vehicle Nisan Evalia before the end of the year. The revamped Evalia is based on extensive customer feedback.”

“The manufacturing unit located near Chennai, which serves both Nissan and Renault, with a capacity of 4,00,000 vehicles are likely to hit full capacity later during the year. This will necessitate us to add another shift, which will enable us to ramp up production from 4,00,000 to 4,80,000 units per annum,” he said.

Due to the increasing demand of GO and hopefully to be sold in great numbers as well, Nissan is claimed to be needed a full capacity production facility. “The launch of Datsun Go and later Go Plus will need additional capacity,” he explained.

The Nissan Evalia compete Maruti Ertiga and Chevrolet Enjoy in market. We believe, there should be more excitement stored in when the new Evalia will be launched this year.
