Major events are expected to be played out in the Light Commercial Vehicle segment. This can be attributed to the behemoths like the Tata Motors and Piaggio desperately trying to carve the pie for their own ends. With the latest news doing the rounds is that Tata Motors has laid claims to be able to sell around 2.75 Lakh units of LCVs, in the category of 2-tonne, in this fiscal.
Head of sales and marketing, Anil Kapur, was quoted by the media as saying that the company is expecting to grab the market share of about 56-57 percentage in this category. In the 7-tonne category Tata Motors have a share of a whopping 83 percent, in the 4-tonne an impressionable 73% and a paltry 20 percent in the 1-1.2-tonne category.

Tata Motors have launched the new Venture a MPV in Maharashtra tagged between Rs 4 to 5 Lakhs. It is believed to be constructed on the well-accepted Ace platform. It has been equipped with 1.4 liter Indigo sedan’s turbodiesel engine. The vehicle is positioned as a car for the large families.
