Limousines of the President represent the reputation of that country. One of the most powerful Presidents on earth i.e. of USA, rides in a Cadillac called “The Beast”, which is actually a rebodied Chevrolet Kodiak medium-duty truck retrofitted with armor panels and other protection by General Motors under the Secret Service’s directives (Cadillac has provided the presidential limo since 1993). Looking to that, it can noted down, how the Russians then would lay back their President in some old chunk of metal – the stretched Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
Some days back, regulars here would know the Russian held a competition for getting the best designs of President’s Limousine around the world, held by Marusia, the organization which prepares vehicles for the powerful personalities. Now, the news on the internet is circulated, the designs given by the Russian firm weren’t upto the mark of Russian President Vladimir Putin. So the designers went back to the drawing board and with inputs from the Porsche, new fleet of vehicles is designed. Fleet includes limousines, vans and SUVs and they going to get the final fleshing in 2016. By the end of this year tests are jolted to take place.
The Russian government had pumped between $150 million and $400 million to get the “Project Cortegesee” (as Vladimir future fleet of vehicle known in inner circle) see daylight.
On the cosmetic front, the Limo looks a combination of Rolls-Royce with a tint of Bentley mixed in a Russian pan and served on the platter with the garnish from Russian traditions.
However, due to lack of images not many details can be revealed, but it is for sure the interiors would see some glimpse from the Mercedes-Benz S-Class too, because President seems to be quite addicted to that German tranquility.
Quite early to say anything further on this, we needed to know what the President of China is going to have for his drive in the country.
