It is quite difficult to differentiate the new and old X6, but believe us, the posted image of the X6 is the brand new version of the coupe-like resembling SUV from BMW.
Earlier launched the first-gen in 2008, BMW managed to sell 250,000 units of it since faced with a downturn in the economy for the most of time.
However, they said, the second-gen BMW X6 is more bigger and better, also loaded with more equipments than before, but still weighs lesser than the previous version. Thanks to the engineer at the BMW who sorted such new techniques for car, and at least thought a bit about the environment with regards to reduce fuel consumption despite developing a gas-guzzling SUV. The one major trick rolled out from our sleeve for differentiating the new and the old version is the second crease that curls over the rear wheel-arch, which is also found on X4, is a clear bifurcate amongst both the generation. On the front, the other change laid, can be named as air curtain breathers behind the front wheel arches.
Under hoods, it will be the V8 developing 330 kW/450 hp for the BMW X6 xDrive50i, a 190 kW/258 hp six-cylinder in-line diesel engine for the BMW X6 xDrive30d and another straight-six diesel with three turbochargers and 280 kW/381 hp in the BMW X6 M50d. All the variants will be having 22% reduced fuel consumption, as said above, and they all will enjoy the all-wheel drive permanently.
The new X6 is said to aid the comfort level too by the means of different suspension settings:
Dynamic adaptive suspension package takes in active roll stabilisation as a part of the package.
Comfort adaptive suspension package includes air suspension at the rear axle and Dynamic Damper Control.
Professional adaptive suspension package combines the features of Comfort and Dynamic both.
Additionally, there is M Sport package too.
Actual unveiling of this new BMW X6 will take place at the Moscow Motor Show 2014 in the coming August.
