In the coming years, Skoda wants to lift annual sales to an impressive 1.5+ million vehicles, up from 920,800 in 2013 and to do so, it plans to introduce on average, one new or redesigned model every six months. For now, the Czechs are placing their efforts on improving the current range with new editions like Monte Carlo spec vehicles.
Skoda is likely to show an expanded range of Monte Carlo models at Geneva Auto Show. Previously only Fabia Monte Carlo was available in both hatchback and station wagon forms; however Skoda is to showcase Rapid, Yeti and Citigo Spaceback versions at the show, which will be available to purchase in summer in United Kingdom.
Scheduled to be seen for the first time in Geneva next week, the all-new models will feature new black exterior trim, tinted rear windows and sporty design with black aluminum wheels. Even though the Monte Carlo special editions are made to celebrate the company’s achievements in motorsports, they don’t bring any performance improvements whatsoever. Instead they depend on purely cosmetic touches like red stitched steering wheel, unique fabric design, sports seat and black interior. In addition to Monte Carlo models, the automaker will also showcase its 5-door Vision C Concept at Geneva Auto Show, together with Octavia’s CNG powered variant and new Skoda Octavia Scout.
