Japanese auto maker Toyota had revealed its GT86 last year. From then onwards it has gained so much popularity and appreciation that the company has now confirmed that it will be launching TRD version of the same in the UK market. The vehicle will hit the market from 1st March with only 250 units for sale. These will be equipped with the design and genuine performance packages from the Toyota Racing Development (TRD), one of most successful aftermarket engineering business.
Toyota GT86 will be the first car in UK from Toyota that will be hiring the official TRD parts in its specific production grade model. The model will be available in both six speed manual and automatic transmission with two colour choices, GT86 Black and Perl white. The prices will be about 31,495 and 32,995 pounds for the manual and automatic versions respectively.
The focus has mainly been concentrated around the sport styling but it has not been compromised with the essence of performance and handling. The package will include 18 inches TF6 alloys, side and front skirts, rear bumper spoiler and faster and responsive quad-exhaust system with the rear diffuser that renders stability. The TRD touch can also been seen on the radiator cap and fuel filler cover, while the interior has also been blessed with the new TRD gear shifter.
These items will be an addition to the GT86’s already present equipment that includes front fog lamps, HID headlamps, Smart entry and start, limited slip differential, dual climate control, drilled aluminum pedals, analogue dials and meters, scuff plates, cruise control, sport seats and Toyota GT86 touch multimedia system.
The acceleration and max speed has not been affected and still stands at 7.7 seconds for 0-100 mph and high speed of 225 mph for manual shift and 0-100 mph in 8.4 seconds with top speed of 209 mph for the automatic transmission. However there has been a slight change in the fuel consumption and emissions, it now stands at 192 g/km with economy of 12.35 kmpl for the manual transmission and about 181 g/km with economy of about 12.82 kmpl for the automatic transmission.
