Volvo UK’s market managing director, Nick Conner has made it clear that the company is working in collaboration with the Tuner Polestar to produce and develop a high performance version of the V40 Hatchback, that debuted in Geneva last march.
Currently the precise technical details are not available but Connor told PistonHeads that the new Polestar V40 will have at least 10 percent more horsepower than its T5 model.This means the car will lie in 280-300 horsepower range. This will make it stand amongst the leading German Automotive giants like BMW, Audi and Mercedes.
Company has yet not revealed anything about the engine or transmission or any other details but it is clear that the V40 polestar will be a four-wheel drive vehicle.
The Swedish automaker undoubtedly will make several interior and exterior changes to the existing V40 model to make it a worthwhile candidate for wearing a Polestar badge on the front grille. We can expect bucket seats, complete instrumentation, a full-body kits and bigger rims that will be carved out of the alloy and the car will also incorporate a lower ride height.
The Volvo brakes and the suspension system will undergo some serious modifications in order to obtain more responsive ride quality with the new engine.
More detail about the performance based V40 and the larger S60 Polestar will be made available at the Paris Motor show when it begins in late September later this year.
