2013 Audi A3 unveiled at Geneva

Audi A3 is all set to make its appearance at Geneva Motor Show starting today. We at IndianDrives have consistently kept you updated with the teaser images and leaks of the German hatch. So here is a cream for the readers.

The Audi A3 hatch features a Modular Transverse Matrix (MQB) platform that highlights the designing of the future Audi A3 variants and also the VW Golf.

From the spy images, we had observed that it is going to be a three door hatch, followed by a five door version coming later. The lightweight chassis is made stiffer for a sporty and agile driving style.

On the exterior, it is the traditional Audi look with more aggressive and sleek headlights and wider grille. The headlight features both daytime running LED and Xenon plus technology.

Audi has plans to launch a more environmental friendly and fuel economic diesel engine later this year. This will be a 1.6-litre TDI diesel motor giving fuel economy figures of 26.3 kmpl and delivering 99g/km of CO2 emissions. There are also reports of natural gas and Audi e-gas versions under development.

Priced at around Rs 15 lacs, the car is said to hit the German market in spring this year.
