Someone famous said the sedan segment is a two-door market. Those numbers of buyers exit from a one door towards SUV, similar number of them moves in from the back door. Believing on that, Hyundai that seems quite late to the party and was about to unveil the new flagship model of Elantra at Seoul Motor Show next month, is now bit disappointed. As some sources managed to get their hands on a clear leaked image of the same quite a month before the debut, it turned out obvious the car will see many changes both on outer as well as on interiors.
Based on a new platform, some reports suggested it to own new engine options in the bay: a 1.6-litre T-GDI petrol that churns out 176PS, and the other will be a four-cylinder diesel. Both of them will come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, with option of a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) in the optional list.
Korean market will get it first by mid-2015.
Out on the cosmetic shape, 2016 Elantra do come with new front grille, wider air dams, vertical daytime running LED lamps, wraparound headlights with daytime running lights and nothing more.
