Ashok Leyland “Dost” unveiled

The first light commercial vehicle born out of the wedlock of Nissan and Ashok Leyland in India has been named “Dost”. It would be officially launched by the second quarter of this year. The new Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) gets a 3 cylinder turbo charged diesel engine with common rail technology and 55 Hp of power. 1.25 tonnes is what the payload capacity of this LCV is pegged at. The company would be offering this LCV in both the BS3 and BS4 variants. The company would be offering this LCV in three trim levels and those would include the base variant without power steering, the middle variant with power steering and the top of the line variant with AC, power steering and other goodies.

Ashok Leyland are planning on opening up many exclusive dealerships for this small vehicle. Ashok Leyland have been far known for giving the Indian customers robust vehicles and now with Nissan Motors joining hands, the vehicles would have better interiors as also class leading fuel efficiency.
