BMW again takes the crown for leading Luxury car maker in India

Staying on the top for last three years in the Indian luxury market, the German car maker has again managed to lead the Indian luxury car segment for fourth year in a row. Whatever be the market condition for automobile in India, it was indeed very good for the German Auto maker, BMW sold about 9,375 units last year followed by Audi with 9,003 units.

Audi India that was left behind by a nominal gap has also witnessed over 63 percent of growth against the 2011 figures. The company has already geared up to over pass BMW by year 2015. Michael Perschke, head of Audi India told reporters that the sturdy performance of Audi can be attributed to the efforts of various product portfolios, unique marketing activities, network extension supplemented with the exciting after sale service.

BMW Luxury car in India

President, BMW India, Philipp von Sahr was overjoyed with the success of BMW. He said that the with the strong intention of intuitive thinking and consistence actions have placed the platform where BMW stands now as the strongest and most renowned brand in Indian luxury auto market. He further added that with the excellent product portfolio and competent network BMW has topped the segment continuously for 4 years.

With the aim to cherish better opportunity from the luxury segment, company is planning to extend its CBU product portfolio with the introduction of BMW X1, BMW 1 Series and BMW 7 series. Although BMW along with the rivals like Audi and Mercedes have already offered discount on various models have now increased the prices by 1 to 5 percent.
