The Chevrolet Cruze will be upgraded with the addition of a new engine. This engine will be from the manufacturer’s Z Series engines.
The car will get a new DOHC 2.0l common-rail diesel motor that is capable of delivering 163bhp of max power, an increase over its earlier 150bhp max power. It will also be able to generate more torque than before. With the addition of this new engine, the car maker is trying to ensure that the Cruze stays put on its top diesel performance pedestal.
Apart from the addition of a new engine, the car is also likely to get a few small cosmetic changes. Based upon customer feedback, GM India is also going to redesign the rear seats for providing more head room. The new upgraded Chevrolet Cruze will hit showrooms sometime this year.
I really love the Chevy cruze and was planning to buy one later this year(around Diwali). I just read this update that an upgrade is expected by the end of this year. When I called couple of dealers in Delhi they didn’t have any information and said they don’t expect an upgrade in the next 1.5-2 years. Hence, would request you to share some more information regarding this update. Thanks in advance for your reply.
am a die hard fnatic of cruze but the thing is recently i already booked one so can u please be precise of the fact that when is the upgraded verison coming to the market??bcoz same as rajat mentioned above dealers r still unaware of it
Hi Subhro…I called Chevrolet sales today and the rep there agreed that there is infact an upgrade coming out around Diwali…So I guess it may be a good idea to wait till then since he also said there should be some offers and discounts on Cruze around Dussehra & Diwali 🙂

Rajat can u please try to find out what exactly are these minor cosmetic changes apart from that of the legroom and headroom coz since i already booked the car they are callin me time and again so would have been more satisfactory for me…..
