Chinese Automaker Haima Automobile All Set To Enter India

Year 2019, was full of new launches and new automobile entrants in the Indian Market such as Kia Motors and Morris Garages and recently, French automaker PSA announced they will be entering in the Indian Market with their SUV Citroen in 2020. Joining them now will be the Chinese Automaker Haima Automobiles.

For its Indian operations, the company will collaborate with Bird Automotive, which is also an authorized partner for BMW and Mini. The 3-decade old pioneer passenger car manufacturer will debut at the Auto Expo 2020 with the Great Wall Motors. Haima Automobiles hasn’t yet revealed its product lineup. Though, its team up with Bird Electric hints that it will showcase a range of electric vehicles at the upcoming 2020 Auto Expo in February.

The fact that Haima has already showcased a range of all-electric vehicles, including the Aishang 360 hatchback, E3 midsize sedan, E5 SUV and E7 MPV in China, their first vehicle for India will also be an Electric Vehicle.

Haima Automobile originally sold rebadged Mazda models in China before eventually taken over by Chinese state-owned First Automobile Works, now known as the FAW Group. While the Chinese carmaker is now developing its own range of SUVs, MPVs and electric vehicles, up until a few years ago, most models sold by the company were based on ageing Mazda platforms.

Auto Expo 2020 in India surely seems to be getting interesting with new entrants.
