Force India F1, which is the first and sole Indian F1 team, launched the Force India F1 Team Academy. The main aim of the academy is to identify new racing talent as well as to provide academic and professional training for those young Indians who wish to have a serious profession in motorsports.

This is the first motorsport academy in India. They are currently on a campaign named the ”Hunt for 1 from a Billion” which aims to form a talent pool from among Indians. The hunt will comprise of three different stages. The first stage will be regional trials in which 7 Indian cities will witness many aspiring drivers contend in each of the cities.

From each city, at least 14 finalists are to be selected who will then move on to the next level. This is the National Final in which all the selected finalists will contend against each other. There will be 10 finalists selected from this stage, who will receive a week long stint which comprises driver tuitions in Silverstone, UK on Dmax Karts.

Other trainings include a day spent at Porsche Human Performance Centre for developing and assessing fitness for participating in motorsports. This will be followed by a media training session with Goodman media, and later on two days spent on safety sessions, vehicle control training, and briefing on race procedures as well as driver assessment at the Silverstone Formula 1 circuit.

The ten chosen drivers will then complete their experience at Silverstone circuit by participating in a race in the Formula Silverstone cars itself. By the end of this intensive week, three winners will be picked from the ten by an expert panel based on a complete assessment of multiple capabilities as well as proficiency in the required areas. The three winners of this event are to be announced during the Indian Grand Prix in October.
