Honda Brio launch in India

Honda Siel Motors has faced the heat from the competition in recent times. So much so that the company is bringing on face-lifted variants of its existing models in India. Now it is been said that the company which was planning to launch their first compact car in India by September 2011, would be doing it ahead of schedule. If reports are to be believed, you can book a Honda Brio as early as March 17th 2011.

Still sore from the fail of the Honda Jazz car in the Indian market, primarily due to its higher price tag, Honda is looking forward for some retribution. The Honda Brio is a small car under 4 meters (which would give it the 10% excise duty cut) and a 1.2 liter petrol engine. It claims to seat 5 comfortably and knowing Honda’s penchant for interior packaging, there isn’t a doubt about that as well. Honda is also looking forward to fend off their Japanese rival, Toyota Motors as well with this move. Toyota is all set to launch their small car, the Toyota Liva by April. Since the Brio was to be launched by September of this month, it was imperative that Honda should be capturing some of the market share from the Toyota Liva. It is expected that pricing would be on the competitive side for both the hatchbacks. Both would be available for as low as Rs 5 lakhs price. Though bookings for the Brio would start in March, Honda is expected to start delivering the cars only after 2-3 months. We at Indiandrives cannot wait to put both the competitors for a comparison test.

car maker gaints have burnt their hands enough …first skoda fabia which was priced too
high had to bring their tags down, thereafter Honda has also learnt fast from failure of Jazz
& is finally entering into much saught segments of Hatchback…where already players like
Maruti Suzuki ,Hundai, ford,GM are there….So Honda has to be very causiously while pricing
Honda Brio…keeping in mind pricing Brio as Liva from Toyota would soon be entering the
    same segment.
