Indiandrives promises an unflinching support to Anna Hazare’s movement

Enough has been spoken and heard about India being a corrupt nation where one’s freedom can be brought for as less as Rs 1 lakhs and this freedom is for a person who has committed the heinous crime of murder. Here, put a Rs 100 note in the pockets of a traffic cop and you can literally roam around without a license or even the vehicle’s papers. Earlier there was a certain Mr Mahatma Gandhi and his fight for freeing the nation from the clutches of the British Raj and now taking the fight forward is a one Mr Anna Hazare.  The difference is that he isn’t fighting against the external elements and is infact fighting for a better India. An India free from the shackles of corruption. He is currently pressing the Indian Government to go ahead and immediately implement the Lokpal and Jan Lokpal bill. While the former says that any government officer including the Prime Minister of India, charged of corruption would be questioned by a committee of 3 people and if found guilty, then that official would be put behind the bars. However, unlike the typical Indian style, this would be a sort of fast court and the investigation and subsequent punishments would be carried out within a span of 6 months.

Also, the second bill called as Jan Lokpal is a draft anti-corruption bill drawn up by prominent civil society activists seeking the appointment of a Jan Lokpal, an independent body that would investigate corruption cases, complete the investigation within a year and envisages trial in the case getting over in the next one year. This is something similar to the Hindi movie Nayak which focused on how justice should be ramped up and be done by corruption free officials rather than ones influenced by the politicians or super-powers. It is said that India would be the richest country in the world and no one would have to pay for the taxes for the next 10 years or so. Petrol prices would be down to 1/8th of what it is today and there would be only a lakh or so people below the poverty line.

Anna Hazare

Now, why is Anna Hazare interested in this and why not other people? Anna Hazare was a truck driver in the Indian Army for a considerable amount of time and war time experiences include the famous 1965 India-Pakistan war. Post his Army hiatus, he concentrated on getting a village, Ralegaon Siddhi in Ahmad Nagar district, Maharashtra, upto the mark and by upto the mark, we mean making it self sustained and eco-friendly with the use of bio-fuel and stuff. Needless to say, this village is one of the richest ones in the country today. The Government of India accorded him the Padma Bhushan award for all his contribution.

Just like Gandhiji before him, Anna too is using the help of non-violence to heed some sense into the brains of the Indian Government. One point to be noted here is that Mr. Hazare is not from any party and his fast is not related to getting his party in the limelight. Its more about fighting for the rights of Indians and also striving to make India a super power in the real sense. As our tagline says that its cars and beyond, Indiandrives promise their unrelenting support for the cause that Mr Hazare is fighting for. We would like each one of our readers to spread this message via facebook, twitter and other social networking media. Mr Hazare has sent out a personalized flier in Hindi which outlines his objectives and the reason why he is doing it. Attached here is the PDF of the same. Technically speaking, it might not be possible for all to fast but then atleast, the thought of spreading this word to garner some support for Mr Hazare is definitely something which we all can do.

Disclaimer : Indiandrives doesn’t support any political party and it’s the noble cause here that we are highlighting.
