Launch of the Premier Rio Diesel around the corner?

Premier is the nation’s oldest automobile manufacturing company, which is still functioning smoothly and is also about to launch the face-lifted version of its Rio sports utility vehicle (SUV). This was unveiled in the 2012 International Auto Expo of New Delhi, but the one which was showcased then, was a petrol variant. The diesel variant was not ready at that time to be showcased for it was not in compliance with the emission norms of BS IV.

The Premier company had showcased a 1.3 litre mill at its stand to mellow the future customers that it will bring the diesel variant very soon for sure. Till now Premier has been busy discussing with Fiat for the sourcing of its Multijet turbo 1.3 litre diesel engine for its SUV Rio. The company had declared that its Rio in diesel variant will come to the automobile market of India by 2012 May, but as per some reliable sources we have come to know that the Premier Rio diesel will be coming into the dealerships by the end of this very month.

These aforementioned predictions are further supported by the declarations made by the company in the previous week in connection to the sourcing of the 1.3 litre diesel engine from the Fiat. This Multijet turbo 1.3 litre diesel engine sourced by Fiat is efficient enough to pump out a good power of 75 PS and at present it is sitting beneath the bonnets of Tata Vista and Maruti Suzuki Swift. These engines for Premier Rio SUV will be manufactured in the Ranjangaon plant of Fiat which is currently manufacturing 1 lakh engine units per annum for the cars of Maruti Suzuki India.

The diesel version of Premier Rio SUV is sure to get a lot of buyers for the price of petrol fuel has hiked a lot lately. With a diesel SUV manufactured by the oldest Indian company is something which is expected to be very reliable and it has got a good value for money. After the SUV of Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors which are the indigenous car manufacturing companies of the nation, this oldest car manufacturer will surely bring in some promise to the customers in terms of quality and after sale service.
