Over the past few years Maruti Suzuki has emerged as the top choice of those looking to buy a small-segment car. Maruti Suzuki opened their Indian chapter with a humble Maruti 800 followed by Alto and then Maruti Zen. These three cars sky-rocketed the sales of Maruti in India and gave them an impressive market lead over other auto-makers. Soon the A-Star was launched on the Indian roads a few years back. Thought A-Star couldn’t generate that much of response as the previous small-segment cars yet this time Maruti Suzuki has given a new touch to the car and will be launching the 2012 A-Star in a few months.
Though Maruti has not made any changes with the original design of the A-Star but the interiors have been improvised to a great extent. The upholstery has been upgraded new front-head restraints have been put into place. 2012 A-Star will now be giving customers an option of ABS as well as Air Bags. The wheels have also been taken out and replaced with alloys to give the car a sporty touch.
Customers have now been given the privilege to load more things in the boot of the car as the rear seats have been changed with 50-50 seats which can be folded to accommodate more things. Maruti Suzuki A-Star 2012 will now come in two more colors named Glistening Grey and Caffeine Brown respectively.
Ergonomically the car remains the same and will still be running on a 1-L 3-Cylinder K-Series Petrol engine which boosts up rpm count to 6200 with 67 PS. No changes in the gearbox have been made as such which remains the same as it was before.
The 2012 A-Star falls in the price range of Rs.3.66 Lakhs – Rs.4.47 Lakhs according to respective models.
