Maruti has been in the business for more than two decades now and it is the largest car manufacturer in India. Maruti Suzuki India’s sales in the month of February 2012 has soar high by 6.54 per cent, with 1,18,949 units which includes the export as well. Compared to the same month last year, the Company had sold 1,11,645 units in the month of February 2011, including exports. The good news is that it has made a record sale in the domestic market without any export of 1,07,653 units until now in this fiscal year. In 2011, the same period without any exports it was 1,01,542 units which come to a growth of 6.02 per cent in February 2012.
In the very same manner, the exports of Maruti Suzuki India have gone north by 11,296 units which is 11.82 per cent this February 2012 in comparison to 10,102 units in February 2011. It is to also consider here that the sales of its passenger cars in India also increased by 7.13 per cent with 94,118 units being sold in the first month of 2012 from the 87,851 units which were sold in January 2011.
Now this part is going to be very interesting since with the entire rise in the sales of the company, some model are making it big in the market whereas some not doing that good. Maruti’s mini car division which has Maruti 800, Maruti Alto, Maruti A-Star and Maruti Wagon R has gone down by 8.24 per cent at 49,104 units in February 2012 compared to previous year in February 2011. With that Maruti SX4 also went down by 42.47 per cent in sales which comes to 2033 units compared to 3534 units of February 2011. The compact car division went up at about 31.06 per cent which includes Maruti Ritz, Maruti Swift and Maruti Estillo.
The popular Maruti Swift Dzire’s sale is at a very commendable 58.78 per cent which is also very impressive. It has four variants in its petrol version and three variants in its diesel version. For the mileage conscious consumer I would like to add that the petrol version can give a mileage of 19.1 Kmpl and the diesel version would give close to 23.4 kmpl on the highway. At an Ex-Showroom Price (New Delhi) of Rs.4,79,582-Rs.7,09,898 this is a good bargain.
