Mercedes-Benz has finally revealed prices and other specification for its new Mercedes-Benz E 300 Blue TECH Hybrid, one of the most efficient production E Class. The E300 saloon is prices at 39,645 Pound and Estate variant starts at 41,435 pound.
The new car is geared up with several standard equipment like 17 inch alloy wheels, although you can also go for a 16″ configuration at no extra cost for achieving lowest possible CO2 emissions and higher economy. The car is embraced with leather upholstery, LED daytime running light and Becker map Pilot navigation. The car is powered by a highly efficient 2143cc four cylinder diesel engine that delivers around 204hp at 500 Nm of torque. The engine is linked to a 20KW electric motor coupled within the 7 G Tronic Plus automatic transmissions powered by a 19 kw lithium ion battery.
This vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 7.5 seconds before getting to its maximum speed of 232 kmph. When equipped with 16 inch wheels, the E300 is capable of delivering an incredible mileage of about 28kmpl on a combined cycle by emitting just about 109g/km of CO2.
The Hybrid system is tortuously packed within the vehicle so as not to affect the load capacity or versatility of the E class in any manner. The electric motor is mounted inside the 7G TRONIC PLUS transmission. The gear box consists of a torque converter for the wet clutch system, this allows the Internal combustion engine to be disengaged entirely via the clutch and maintain electric only drive for the shorter span of journey. This helps in boosting the economy. The integration has been done so perfectly that the gear adds only 65mm more to the total length of the transmission.
Deliveries are scheduled to start in November later this year.
