Mercedes Benz SLK 55 AMG Launched in India at Rs. 1.25 crore ex-showroom Delhi

Mercedes-Benz launched the SLK 55 “AMG” here in India at a cost of Rs. 1.25 crore ex-showroom Delhi. Mercedes already sells the SLK 55 here, but addition of AMG (an powerful variant) is meant to beef up the image of Merc towards some performance oriented audience.

Technical specification under hoods of SLK 55 AMG speaks grunts with 421hp V8, which guzzles a 540Nm of torque alongside the AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC PLUS seven-speed automatic transmission. 0-100kmph takes off in just 4.6 seconds with an electronically restricted top-speed of 250 kmph. One can choose from the three driving modes made available on SLK 55 AMG: Controlled Efficiency (C), Sport (S) and Manual (M).

Thanks to the AMG badge performance-oriented Sports Suspension, Torque Vectoring Brake, AMG Direct-Steer system, 18” AMG alloys, front and rear aprons and side skirts to add more excitement in the ride-handling fiasco. To addition, the Mercedes says, SLK 55 AMG has driven its engine from Affalterbach (Germany), which follows Mercedes-AMG’s “One man – One Engine” philosophy coarsely.

Hopefully, this new AMG machine from the three-pointed Star is not the only in India to be there on the sales-floor, but the Benz also sells C63 & E63 AMG saloons, the SLS AMG coupe and roadster, and the G63 AMG SUV under its badge.
