Mini Cooper Diesel Launched in India at Rs. 25.6 lakh

It was just some days back when we reported about the local assembly of Mini Cooper at BMW’s Chennai plant in India, and now we got our hands on the news that, Mini launches its first diesel car here named “Mini Cooper D Countryman” starting at Rs. 25.6 lakh ex showroom Mumbai.

Keeping the tab closed for masses over some long time, now the launch of diesel will help the brand to keep momentum going on in the times when A Class of Mercedes Benz is soon going to launch on our local shores.

The new German diesel is now made available across all the showrooms of India, and is categorized in the following two variants.

Both of them will be imported in India via CKD route and would be reached to Chennai facility for the complete structuring. Powering the newbie, 1.6L diesel engine is engulfed in the bay, yielding out maximum power of 122 PS with 270 Nm of maximum torque.

The organization also launched Mini One Countryman in India recently for Rs.23.5 lakhs, claiming the starting range in a very cost effective manner, and also a big step towards the booming India future, via CKD route.

We think the diesel launch, without any media hay, may also help the brand to gain those brownie points over competitors which “Mini” was vying for a “large” time in its kitty.
