By the year 2014, Indian car and utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra will roll out two vehicles in the compact car section comprising a small car and a compact sport utility vehicle.

The small car, code named C-101 is presently in the growth phase, together with the S-101 compact sport utility vehicle, which could be fabricated with Ssangyong. Both the cars from M&M’s stable are likely to boast a monocoque structure that will guarantee that weight will be kept low.

With the entrance of the latest small cars, Indian car and utility vehicle maker will encompass two more monocoque bodied vehicles, in what appears to be a innovative trend for the brand that for long has trapped to the body-on-ladder structure.

The C-101, being a small car, is projected to take over well-known names in the country’s growing car market including Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. So, M&M will require obtaining the product just right from word go. Like the C-101 small car, the S-101 SUV will be a sub 4 meters sport utility vehicle. The S-101 is projected to be the least valued sport utility vehicle model in the globe with the company said to directing a price near INR 4 lakhs.

Both the vehicles are likely to get brand new engines, which are presently being formulated in cooperation by Ssangyong and Mahindra.

At present, both Ssangyong and Mahindra are formulating three small capacitance engines each, with capabilities varying from 1 liter to 1.6 Liters, in 3 cylinder and 4 cylinder guises. Both petrol and diesel engines will be made below the Mahindra-Ssangyong engine project.

The C-101 small car is likely to be targeted against the likes of the Ford Figo and the Volkswagen Polo that entails that the car could be placed in the B+ section hatchback room, with a beginning price label between INR 4-5 lakhs for the base editions.
