Nothing drives us crazy except for that zest of a go-kart behind the steering-wheel of a Mini. Launched the new Cooper in diesel with three- and five-door trims last year during November, the maker had now rolled out new Cooper S, the petrol variant of the fresh face for a price of Rs 34.65 lakh ex-showroom India.
On paper, the nutty hatchback owns a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder twin-turbo unit that sends the swoopy power of 192bhp and 280Nm of torque to the front wheels via a 6-speed auto gearbox. This new tranquility of petrol drives it to 100km/h in 6.7 seconds alongside with the queer of reaching the top-speed of 233kmph. A fuel-efficiency of 18.2 kmpl is rated by ARAI.
In dimensions, new Mini Cooper fares better on this note than its predecessor at 3821mm in length, 1414mm in height, 1727mm in width and 2495mm in wheelbase. The 16-inch alloy wheels takes charge of the bottom. Even the boot space gets generous from 211-litres to 731litres when second row seat folded.
To make the best, Mini confirmed to bring Cooper S in India as CBU (completely built units) from abroad that will make it to cost more than the locally manufactured counterparts.
