The Dr. Ing.h.c.F. Porsch AG Museum in Stuttgart recently received its 1 millionth visitor after its launch some 21/2 years ago. To celebrate this feat, Achim Stejskal, the Porshce museum director, has welcomed 13 school kids from India, to visit the museum as their jubilee guests.

The director added that they were happy that they could provide this surprise to the Indian girls and boys, all of whom are from Mumbai. He also added that around 35% of the museums guests are overseas visitors. The fascination for Porsche and its brand history carries on undiminished worldwide.

The director of the Porsche museum invited the Mumbai class to view behind the scenes stuff, for example the museum workshop that is generally not open to visitors, where the kids were able to sit in a 1954 Porsche 550 Spyder mode. After this visit, the kids were in for another surprise, as the Porsche museum will help them in their school project. The school kids are helping build a well for a village near their school.

The museum which began on January 31, 2009, had provided above 5,100 tours around their 5,600 sq m exhibition area, as well as hosted 10 special exhibitions. Many world celebrities have also paid a visit to this museum, including the likes of Paris Hilton, Jerry Seinfeld, Jamiroquai, Udo Lindenberg, Peter Maffay and Robby Naish. So far the number of tickets sold by the museum would reportedly stretch around 150km from Stuttgart all the way to Lake Constance.

Above 300 collections from the Porsche museum have also been traveling the world as brand ambassadors for Porsche, gracing classic car and historic racing events. This museum will be open exclusively for their visitors with the present, Ferdinand Porsche – Pioneer of the Hybrid Drive special exhibition, which will be open till June 13, 2011. This Porsche Museum is open from Tuesday till Sunday, from 9 in the morning to 6 in the evening. The entry charges are 8 Euros and 4 Euros with concessions.
