Skoda Cars Price Hike Announced In India – Skoda Rapid, Skoda Octavia, Skoda Superb, Skoda Karoq

Skoda Auto has announced a price increase on its entire cars line-up in the Indian market. The new price hike will be effective starting from this month January.

All Skoda cars sold in the country will receive a price increase of 2.5 percent. As a result, the amount of price increase depends on the model and its variants. The company sells the Rapid, Octavia RS245, Karoq and the Superb in the Indian market. Skoda announced that the price increase is due to the increasing input costs needed to manufacture the cars in the country.

Speaking about the brand’s entry-level offering, the Skoda Rapid is currently available in five variants: Rider Plus, Ambition, Onyx, Style and Monte Carlo. The base variants of the Rapid now start at Rs 7.99 lakh. While the top-spec Rapid Monte Carlo AT retails at Rs 13.29 lakh. All prices mentioned are before discounts, ex-showroom (India).

The company recently announced a set of year-end offers for the Rapid sedan. The Rapid sedan is being offered with benefits of up to Rs 75,000. The Skoda Octavia RS 245 was launched in the Indian market earlier this year.

The company imported only 200 examples of the performance sedan in the country. There are reports of some models still available in the country. The Skoda Octavia RS 245 retails at Rs 36 lakh, ex-showroom (India).

The Skoda Superb is currently the brand’s flagship model sold in the country. The Skoda Superb facelift comes in two variants: Sportline & L&K. The premium luxury sedan retails at a starting price of Rs 29.99 lakh and Rs 32.99 lakh, ex-showroom (India).

Although the Skoda Karoq is listed on the brand’s Indian website, it is currently unavailable in the county. Zac Hollins, Director for Sales, Service & Marketing at Skoda Auto India has confirmed that the first batch of Karoq SUV is sold-out in the Indian market.

The company brought in 1000 units of the Skoda Karoq to the Indian market. Skoda is the latest manufacturer to have announced a price hike on its model sold in the Indian market.

Starting next year, a majority of brands are increasing the prices of their vehicles sold in the country due to the rising input costs in manufacturing.
