Renault Duster Adventure Edition Review, First Impression

Renault Duster was launched in India since mid-2012, and has remained very helpful in sailing its brand peacefully in the country. The Delhi Auto Expo 2014 gave it a fresh lease of life with an Adventure Edition on the list; and to be honest, it’s only the cosmetic makeover of the existing Duster, which is planted on the top-of-line trim with 110bhp variant. However, we found out the French carmaker is revving up Adventure Edition hard during the TVC, and it seems they wanted to get it over the Nissan’s Terrano for retaining their hold in the category as soon as possible. So, the events like Desert Odyssey in Rajasthan and other such under the hat of ‘Gang of Dusters’ are the answers to keep the Renault’s compact SUV aspirants in momentum always, and also to pep them with what tricks they can do with their vehicles, just like the Mahindra with the Thar (but Thar is really a capable off-roader) in off-roading.

However, after the Delhi Auto Expo 2014, we got a chance to drive the Duster Adventure on the tarmac of India’s capital city Delhi, but for a very shorter distance.

At that time weren’t been able to take photos, as it was near to the restricted photography area we mean VVIPs residences, so our crew decided of not risking our time in clicking some shots there, as residents of Delhi are not like Bombay, we mean not so understanding. Starting from the front, or you can say the whole of exteriors, it has blackened alloys and headlamps, plastic guard all around the vehicle, and nothing else to elaborate. Hope so, those who had went to the Renault showroom prior reading to our review, must be knowing those said cosmetic gimmicks are available in the form of accessories; it’s no exclusivity buying this Adventure Edition as an whole package. But despite adding those bells and whistles Duster Adventure not seems to be a complete makeover, something or the other had always felt unfulfilled.

Moved inside, the broad pricing daylight of Delhi has made us realize, the cabin was not subtle with the outer paint shade. Inside was draped with black in the main theme, with fluorescent contrasting bits sprinkled all around. Hopefully, that color scheme maybe looking best on the Duster in black paint shade, but the Moss paint shade on outer was greeted as a stranger to them. I must say that, the fit and finish were upto the mark, but weren’t helping a lot either.

Drive was as same as the existing 110bhp Duster.

Hence, those who were fixed choosing between the flashy yet muscular brat Nissan Terrano and the sophisticated lad Renault Duster, they now have an option to go sophisticated as well as wild at the same time in Duster Adventure Edition. Priced at 11.7 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) it is almost near the neck of Nissan Terrano top-end trim. Let’s see how it is going to help the Duster crazy Indians, but we are waiting to try our hands on the Duster facelift that is speculated to come to India somewhere by 2015.

Renault Duster of 2014 Dakar Rally is a Devil: Watch Video

Renault Duster is been just rolled out with facelift. And we also reported about the pickup variant of same doing test rounds on Romania yesterday. Claiming more of the excitement, some source now released a video on internet which shows off the Renault Duster of 2014 Dakar Rally.

Dakar Rally is one of the most extreme rallies on the planet. And to bear its effect a team from Argentina has built up a ‘monstrous Duster’. The vehicle is laden with number of add-ups, suspension kit, a modified body and ultimately a “V6”. But there are no confirmations about the technical specifications of Duster.

Renault Duster has been successful in the past Dakar rallies too; we bet this new Duster for 2014 Dakar will be no lesser than 300hp.

Renault Duster facelift is rolled out with LED headlamps, new front grille, and other cosmetic treats but the French has forgotten to load an automatic transmission on it.

Meanwhile, do not expect the Renault making this devious Duster rolling into production. It is a custom built by one of the trams for 2014 Dakar Rally.

2014 Renault Duster Facelift Spied

Going to get the Nissan’s version of Duster very soon, Renault had started testing the Duster facelift to go boomerang on it by next year or so. Duster had debuted in international market by 2010 and came to India just last year itself. In spite of being termed for this so short time, Duster had did great jobs for the organization wherever it was rolled out. But now it is in the schedule for many of the markets to receive its facelift, who are quite bored looking the same for long three years. And here for them we present, the new “Duster facelift” that is recently spied testing in Southern Europe going under the heat test, which is expectedly to go previewing 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show.

The posted photos are slightly camouflaged, so only minute details can be revealed. The front is almost covered, where most of the changes are going to take place.

Rear of the vehicle is expected to be same, but the interiors will receive updates as brief as possible. In order to remain cost effective, there will be no more of the heavy pegs comparison for the world’s cheapest SUV, but hopefully the quality that it is going to ally here for the new generation will be of ample satisfaction.

So till the new French wine arrives to Frankfurt paddock, we can wait and bite our nails annoyingly for the cost of our most loved yet cheapest off-roader to remain in the respective plethora itself. Hopefully, it will not be hiked, because the Nissan is also planning a one with niche interiors that will be rolled out by the end of this year, so Duster can now enjoy those unaffected overwhelming sale numbers too.

Renault Confirms 2013 Facelift Duster for Geneva

Renault is very much popular for its low cost brand Dacia in Europe, and SUV Duster as the most prominent face worldwide.

The Renault’s SUV Duster is also a bread butter of this French carmaker here. Though, nowadays it is doing better than competitors but rivalries in SUV segment are getting so harder than one would have thought of, that’s why automakers needs to be at a core of dynamism for maintaining the striking balance. To get a clear-cut pie of market share, Renault is preparing to do with a facelift of its world’s cheapest SUV at Geneva Motor Show this year.

However, presently Ford is grossing all the media hype with EcoSport, but is still on a shaky ground about pricing, that’s because, it is the only factor which had laid them back in past launches.

Duster seems in full swing as crossed the 400,000 production mark recently.

Biting more of crispiness, facelifted French offering is expected to sport new front grille, refreshed headlamps, tweaked interiors and exclusively, a bulge of more equipments. It is also heard that Logan MCV will too be sharing the same Swiss paddock.
