Mahindra e2o Launched In Bermuda

Mahindra e2o is officially launched in Bermuda, which could be promoted as a new way of transportations there.

The automaker is quite positive about the island to pose as a potential market.

Commenting about the launch, Chetan Maini, CEO of Mahindra Reva, said, “Islands will and should take the lead for driving these alternative energy solutions. They are also the ones that feel the pain of global warming first so it makes sense to me.”

He added, “From my perspective, Bermuda’s geography, its climate, its sophisticated economy and its population all work in its favour — it just seemed very right to me. It has the right mindset and the right ecology. We also have two very good partners in the shape of Auto Solutions and Bermuda Engineering. It’s about energy security and being clean and in my opinion Bermuda is the right location for this product.”

Mahindra Reva e2o all set to reduce running cost to 50 paise per km

According to Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), the running cost of their newly rolled out electric car ‘e2o’ will be as low as 50 paise per kilometer (km). Hard to believe, but this new car neither runs on diesel or petrol and nor does it have any conventionally loaded engine.

This truth comes from Mahindra’s stable that their brand new electric car Reva e2o runs on next generation li-ion battery, which does not require any maintenance and cover up to 100 km on a single charge.

After a full charge, it produces top speed of up to 82 km per hour (kmph) and to top it up, it can be charged from a simple home socket.

Back in 2004, Mahindra came with the country’s first REVAi and now is back with e2o, the second generation technical breakthrough.

Mahindra Reva e2o all set to reduce running cost to 50 paise per km

According to Mr. Anand Mahindra, Chairperson of M&M Group, it is a world class innovation. Priced at Rs. 5.96 lakhs (on road price), Mahindra Reva e2o shall be in the national capital this Monday. In the beginning, the car will only be available in the 8 major cities of the nation.

The company intends to sell around 400 to 500 car units each month in order to maintain a certain level. As per the company’s study, on every 1,200 km car drive you’ll be saving Rs.70,000 on an annual basis.

The car promises mega incremental benefits. Apart from being eco-friendly, the running cost will also be as low as 50 paisa per km.

However, if we hear what Sumit Arora (Associate Director of Synovate Motorsearch) is saying, then this is not a good time in India for electric cars. As there is lack of charging infrastructure and the power crisis is also still on our heads.

Mahindra Reva E20 to give birth to a new segment

Mahindra and Mahindra, the largest SUV manufacturer in India, has now officially revealed its plans to bring in Reva E20 electric model in the Indian auto market. The model will be hitting the Indian markets on March 18th and will serve as a replacement for the current Reva electric car. Earlier the same model was showcased at the 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo branded as the Reva NXR and was able to draw a lot of attention to its stand.

According to sources, the model is being produced at the company’s new plant in Bangalore. If the company sources are to be believed, this plant has a rolling capacity of about 30,000 cars per year. Mahindra has yet not announced the price for the upcoming model, but most of the industry experts believes that the car will be placed somewhere in the range of Rs. 5 to 6 lakhs. Speaking on the upcoming model Mahindra said that the new vehicle will be housing a next generation Lithium-ion battery pack and with the increased efficiency it will be having a range of over 100 km on a full charge of its batteries. The range is more than enough for city driving.

Mahindra Reva e2o
Speaking on the launch of the company’s much awaited vehicle, Pawan Goenka, President of the Automotive and Farm Equipment Division, Mahindra and Mahindra, said that the electric vehicle features clean and green driving technology and Mahindra is hoping to lead the market in this segment. He further expressed his hopes that this initiative will find all sorts of support it needs from the governmental agencies which works towards clean and green mobility solutions.

Under the hood, the Mahindra Reva E20 will be hiring an electric engine that will inherit power from its 48volt Lithium-ion batteries. The efficiency of the car is further increased by the Sun2Car solar technology that will come as a boon to the daily commuter who had been adversely affected by the rising fuel prices.

The launch of the Mahindra Reva E20 will surely be creating its own segment in the Indian auto market. Some industry experts says that Mahindra may face some issues in the beginning as it will be hard for stereotypical Indian customers to accept an electric car from the word go, but it can be beneficial in the long run.

Mahindra Reva e2o To Launch on 18th March 2013

Mahindra Reva e2o was readied for quite a long time but was delayed due to some uncertainties. It is cited that carmaker was waiting for the Union Budget to be announced because in last year’s financial planning our government had granted subsidies to EV segment, but so of this year they are now deprived off.

Lest of all the rumors, Mahindra had just now said that Reva e2o is confirmed for 18th March 2013. We are very much excited about the newbie because it is the first electronic automobile from Indian fraternity. However it had already won many accolades abroad, but we just have to know how the Indians will perceive this type of new commuting solution.

Commenting on this overwhelming opportunity, Dr Pawan Goenka, President, Automotive & Farm Equipment Sectors, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd says, “The Mahindra e2o is the next generation global electric vehicle built on the capability of using the futuristic ecosystem of Sun2Car to derive energy from the Sun for urban mobility.”

Mahindra Reva e2o
He too added that, “The car will use next generation Lithium Ion batteries and will have a range of 100 kms on a full charge, which is suitable for most urban commuters today.”

Conveniently, e2o uses 15 amp plug point for charging which is easily accessible in our homes and offices.
