Mercedes Benz is targeting the youth to become prey to its sleek silhouette CLA coupe, which was launched on Sunday night at the Detroit Auto Show. This newbie hunts with its world class aerodynamics, futuristic front grille, frameless doors, beautiful body curves and an affordable price tag. On the interiors, it lures with the all advanced features which is always expected from the house of German carmaker. Above all, it bears a multimedia console at the centre of dashboard which syncs seamlessly with iPhone.
Compact CLA offers all its glory in 5 variants with soothing factors like non-merciful engine, soft suspension, efficiency and traction on all the wheels (AWD). In terms of safety it offers, Attention Assist drowsiness detection and radar based Collision Prevention Assist (with adaptive brakes), which avoids collisions even at low speed of 6.5 km/h. It also includes optional packages of Distronic- Blind Spot Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and Parktronic- Advanced Parking Assist (for parking in parallel spots).
Its price is scheduled to 0be announced on 3rd February during the Superbowl at Superdome in New Orleans and will hit the US showrooms in April. This coupe will be sold across the globe with some additional expectations for the Chinese, Asian and European markets.
The sales target has not yet been disclosed but Joachim Schmidt, Mercedes Sales Chief said, “With the new CLA-class, we will open a completely new gateway to the Mercedes brand here in the US”. He further added “Our goal is to repeat the success story of the CLS in a new segment”. This clearly portrays that the Benz is aiming for the No.1 position in luxury car segment.
