Torrent Nissan: NMIPL’s third exclusive dealership in Mumbai

With many new models in the box of Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd, the carmaker has a default need of extension of its dealerships. NMIPL yesterday officially announced the launch of its thirddealership in Mumbai, Torrent Nissan. It was Hover Automotive India’s Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Mr. G.M. Singh, who inaugurated the outlet. Extended over an area of 480 square meters at Andheri (West), Torrent Nissan will take care of sales facility of NMIPL.

Mr. Singh stated, “With newer models which are slated for launch this year, we are gearing up for wider sales and mass support to all our customers who believe in Nissan’s innovation and excitement philosophy.” Commenting on the new dealership NMIPPL’s MD & CEO, Mr. Takayuki Ishida said, “Mumbai is growing in terms of its sheer market size and user base. It is a perfect market which demands innovation with value for money services and we are glad to be expanding our presence in this commercial capital of the country.”

No one needs an introduction of the brand Nissan, and thus expression of conviction on the brand comes in part and parcel with everyone’s statement. Same happened with Torrent Nissan’s Dealership Promoter, Mr. Jatinder Singh Chadha. He said,” Nissan is one of the few OEMs who has set global benchmarks and created new standards in its products and service quality. This makes Torrent Nissan proud to be a part of this innovation enriched brand.”

Automobile news industry had earlier witnessed Hover Automotive India and NMIPL making headlines. It was then that NMIPL was reported to have signed a sole and exclusive distribution agreement with the former, which took charge as Nissan’s national sales company. Apart from being the national sales company for the automaker, Hover Automotive India will also be the service partner for Nissan’s marketing, sales, after-sales service and dealer development in India.

With the addition of the name, Torrent Nissan, the national dealership count of the automaker has reached the count of 68 in India.

The motives of the company can be justified by the way it is heading towards operating a chain of its dealership. In fact, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. added another name in their dealership list yesterday. Company officials formally inaugurated the latest dealership, which is company’s fourth dealership in Kerala. The dealership has been given to Kannur based Manumatic Nissan. The dealership stands up to every expectations in terms of 3S (Space, Sales & Service) requirements of the company, and is centrally located in Thottada in the city.

Vice President (Operations), Hover Automotive India, Mr. Manoj Kumar, was the one who formally inaugurated the fourth dealership in Kerala for Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. During the inauguration ceremony, he seemed optimistic about the future performance of the company and sales & service of its products. He quoted that Nissan lags nowhere behind in order to reach its customers so as to satisfy them in each and every aspect regarding their products, and that’s the reason why the company has been attempting to move as close to its customers as possible. The company has already opened over 64 dealerships in the past two years. He was hopeful that Manumatic Nissan would bring more customers to Nissan.

Nissan India May Sales Grow By 98%

Nissan Motor India Private Ltd. (NMIPL) today reported 98% increase in year-on-year sales for May, selling 3138 units as against 1,588 units sold in May 2011.

The sales growth continues to be driven by two of the Company’s flagship models – the Sunny sedan and the Micra compact premium hatchback.

The award-winning Nissan Sunny, launched in September 2011 and produced at the Company’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Chennai, has become a major contributor to total sales over the past few months. Since its launch, the SUNNY has sold 18,753 units to date. The popularity of the diesel variant has seen robust growth in recent months.

Mr Ishida Takayuki, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd said: “Despite the fact that the auto industry has been going through some uncertainty in view of the recent fuel price hike and general economic growth, our sales have remained strong. This performance has been supported by the strength and diversity of our model range. It will further expand with the launch of Evalia later in the year, and we are confident that our sales will continue to grow.”

Mr Nitish Tipnis, Director-Marketing & Sales, Hover Automotive India (HAI), Nissan’s sales and marketing partner in India, said: “Despite the current challenging market, India remains of key strategic importance to Nissan and represents a significant opportunity for growth. Nissan Micra in India

The Company recently announced that it will launch the affordable, value-focused Datsun brand in India in 2014. Datsun will play a crucial role in Nissan’s India strategy envisaged in ‘Nissan Power 88’ – a comprehensive, six-year business plan for accelerating the Company’s growth across new markets and segments. Cars bearing the Datsun badge will be modern, generous and designed to suit local customer tastes and will be built locally, incorporating latest technology features.

Nissan also showcased its Urban Utility Vehicle, Evalia at the Delhi Auto Expo in January. Evalia will further expand Nissan’s innovative product range in India when it goes to production at the company’s Chennai plant later this year.
