After catering as official automotive partner of UEFA for over 12 years, Hyundai-Kia have signed fourth consecutive deal with the European Championship.

Apart from being the official automotive partner for the 2012 Euro Cup, the brand will feature same status at the 2016 UEFA Euro Cup. In this year’s event, more than 350 Hyundai-Kia vehicles will taxi the teams, VIPs and tournament officials throughout the league. In addition, the cars were used to carry the Championship Trophy in Poland/Ukraine.

As a part of the event promotion campaign, Hyundai has announced ‘Team Hyundai’ involving Europe’s top players – Iker Casillas, Lukas Podolski, Giuseppe Rossi, Karim Benzema and Daniel Sturridge. Besides playing the role of Brand Ambassadors for the event, the players will have a roll in inviting fans to Make a Pledge in its Facebook page. This will accumulate a sum of 250,000 Euros to streetfootballworld, which the company describes as “A worldwide network of organisations that use football as a tool to empower disadvantaged young people by engaging private and public partners to create social change.”

The Euro 2012 started on 8th of June and will conclude on 1st of July. It will see 16 teams battle in Poland and Ukraine for the title of European Champions 2012.

Other events where Hyundai will cater as the official automotive partner for UEFA includes:

  • UEFA European U21 Championship (2013, 2015, 2017)
  • UEFA Women’s European Football Championship (2013, 2017)
