Toyota Kirloskar Motor Records 99 % Sales Growth in July

Toyota Kirloskar Motor recently posted their sales figure for the month of July. The company managed to sell 13,592 vehicles last month, in comparison to the 6,834 vehicles it sold in the same period last year. The sales of the company increased by almost 99% in comparison to the sales growth in June 2010.

The company’s Deputy MD Marketing, Sandeep Singh, said that July witnessed great growth in sales that is indicative of the increasing sales and growing volumes of the company in India. The response of their customers to the Etios Liva and the Etios has also been very good. They would like to thank their customers for the trust they have shown in the company. The Etios Liva and the Etios managed to sell around 2,551 and 4,095 units respectively, last month. Their new Corolla Altis has also been received quite well, with the model witnessing a 22% growth in July selling 1,030 units.

Meanwhile, the Toyota sold 4,816 units of the Toyota in July, while it sold 1,060 models of the Fortuner SUV. The company also recently announced about their increasing their production capacity further to 3,10,000 vehicles by 2013 at their facility in Bidadi, close to Bangalore. They also stated that this expansion will come following an INR 898 crore investment, and will also generate new opportunities for employment.
