TVS LSL (TVS Logistics Services Limited) opened its logistics Assembly unit in North Chennai at Sholavaram. This unit would be a sophisticated and dedicated full-fledged assembly unit for AL (Ashok Leyland, Power Solution Business) for assembling their GE (Genset Engine) powerpacks for capacities ranging from 10 to 2000 KVA for both export and domestic markets. This new facility was opened by Managing Director of Ashok Leyland, Vinod K. Dasari, and the event also saw Managing Director of TVS Logistics, R. Dinesh.

Ashok Leyland would supply radiator and engines to TVS LSL (TVS Logistics Services Limited), which would give end-to-end chain solutions and also ensure infrastructure, assembling, procuring child parts, materials handling solutions, packaging and logistics solutions for assembly of GE (Genset Engine) powerpacks as to Ashok Leyland’s needs. This setup also means that TVS LSL (TVS Logistics Services Limited) would be the sole supplier for Ashok Leyland for assembling their GE (Genset Engine) powerpacks for capacities ranging from 10 to 2000 KVA.

They plan to invest Rs. 25 million initially. The facility would have an initial capacity of producing 14,500 units yearly that could go up to 30,000 units.  The location seems to be excellent connecting prime cities like Kolkata and Bengaluru by road. In this facility, they would assemble Genset engines in hopes of meeting sales requirement in the coming three years. The facility in Sholavaram has a space of about 70,000 square feet. The facility has sophisticated facilities for engine movement, components movement for assembly, packing, testing and dispatch.
