Volkswagen India has achieved a sales growth of a whopping 166% for last month according to the company. The European auto major managed to sell a total of 5,397 models last month, in comparison to 2,032 models they sold in June 2010.
The main sale boosters for the company continued to be the Volkswagen Vento and the Volkswagen Polo, with both accounting for almost 5,136 models sold last month. According to the company, their newly launched Passat sedan managed to sell 197 models last month.
The company’s sales India board member and director, Neeraj Garg said that in spite of the market going through a current slowdown facing increase in fuel price hikes and loan rates, they have managed to weather the month quite well because of their strong portfolio in the Indian market.
