Chevrolet will be showcasing six vehicles at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo

General Motors has finally revealed the list of cars it is going to showcase at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. Among all its offerings, the two major surprises are going to be its Sail compact hatchback and its race car, WTCC Cruze. Also coming in expected lines will be its revamped variant of the economic car the Chevrolet Tavera as well as the Chevrolet Captiva premium SUV. Another car that can become the cynosure of all eyes is its Wuling MPV, which has been seen a few times with its Chevrolet underpinning. But all eyes will be focused on the Chevrolet Sail, probably the most eagerly awaited car, which is expected to be launched in India in April 2012. The car is being showcased for the first time in India at the upcoming 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. The compactness of this car is going to surprise a lot of people. GM China has developed this car jointly with SIAC. The car is going to carry the same petrol engine of 1.2L that has been fitted to the Chevrolet Beat and is expected to deliver maximum power of 79Bhp.

Chevrolet Tavera in IndiaLovers of diesel car variants need not be disappointed too much by this piece of news. This is because GM is coming out pretty soon with a diesel variant of this car, which is going to get its power from a Multijet 1.3L diesel engine. A saloon variant of the Chevrolet Sail will also be making its way to the Indian auto market, expectedly in the month of September. However, this car, which has been provided with a petrol engine of 1.4L under its hood, is also going to feature at the 2012 Auto Expo. The latest Wuling MPV has also been pulled out by GM India from the product portfolio of its partner in China, Wuling. This is because the auto maker wants to register a strong presence in the segment of MPV cars. Hence, it has introduced the CN-100 Wuling MPV, which is also known as the Wuling Sunshine into the Indian auto market.

The diesel version of this car is going to retain its 1.3L diesel engine from Fiat. Lovers of sporty vehicles are going to get an adrenaline rush at the Expo through the WTCC Cruze. This sports car delivered a mind blowing performance at a Performance Show in Mumbai this November and is also going to light up the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo courtesy its 2.0L engine that delivers a peak power of 285Bhp.

The latest Chevrolet Captiva has been provided with a huge makeover to its exteriors and is also going to be present at the pavilion of General Motors. The erstwhile version of the Captiva was often deemed to be a too much of a soft looking SUV. However, the latest changes to its exteriors has completely shed off that tag and blessed the car with outright macho looks this time around. But, the car has retained the same power packed diesel engine of 2.2L under its hood. Alongside this, the latest Chevrolet Tavera is also expected to feature in the Expo with its well-tuned diesel power engine courtesy ICL Sonalika. This engine is blessed with additional power, but still conforms to the new emission norms of  BS IV. The diesel engine is expected to deliver 100Bhp maximum power, which is an increase of 30Bhp from the previously seen model.
