Jaguar XE sedan that could have made the debut some years back, is now finally unveiled with huge fanfare at Earls Court in London, UK.
The company’s compact sedan in rivalry with BMW 3-Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4, is positioned below the XF and the flagship sedan XJ.
A fully-fledged four-passenger cabin, designed exclusively in Jaguar style, is adorned with number of engines, 8-speed ZF transmission and rear-wheel drive layout. The aluminum built chassis made it clearly to stand out from the crowd delivering the astounded fuel-economy. Officials of JLR confirmed women too are aimed behind its steering wheel, which clearly aims the XE to be volume driver.
The image that is officially released is of ZE S trim. It is done with the rear spoiler, dual exhaust and optional 20-inch alloys. The rest of designing language is adapted from the elder siblings.
Under bonnet, there lays the option of a 3.0L supercharged V6, which clocks 340PS of max power and 450Nm of peak torque. The sprint of 0-60 mph can be commanded within 4.9 seconds while the top-speed is electronically restricted to 250 km/h (155mph). The Wolverhampton’s diesel engine of 2.0L is speculated for the other set of buyers of which details aren’t revealed yet, affirmed to be uncovered at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
Ideally, the official figures had claimed the XE to be doing 75mpg for UK (3.7L per 100kms / 62.4 mpg in US) whilst of CO2 emissions rated at 99g/km.
