Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Launch Today

MSI (Maruti Suzuki India), the biggest automobile manufacturing company is all seat to introduce its first made for India vehicle Ertiga on Thursday. The automaker unveiled its MPV (multipurpose vehicle) during the 2012 Auto Expo in Delhi. With this all new vehicle, MSI for the first time will be introducing 1.4 liter VVT K-14 petrol powerplant in India. The Ertiga will also be available in diesel version and will be considered to be a LUV (Life Utility Vehicle). MSI claims that it offers comfortable seating capacity for up to seven passengers and will provide the fuel efficiency of 20.77 kilometers per litre for its DDiS Super Turbo 1.3 litre, the diesel version.

Mr. Mayank Pareek, Managing Executive Officer at Maruti Suzuki stated that the all-new Ertiga is an international product from the Japanese automaker, Suzuki, however it’s designed and engineered mainly for India. Although it will also b marketed in other Asian countries. In pricing it will follow the middle ground between a Multi Utility Vehicle and a sedan. The family sedan today starts above Rs. 5 lakhs, while the multipurpose vehicles, which are offered start somewhere around Rs. 10 lakh, said Mr. Pareek. Maruti Suzuki India will be developing and designing the Ertiga car at its facility in Gurgaon.

As per the reports with Ertiga, the company will be stepping into the UV (Utility Vehicle) segment and successfully design a new compact multipurpose vehicle segment in India. Designed and engineered on the Swift platform, its made-for-India design cues will form a mainstay of its market positioning. The company is planning to market around 5,000 Ertiga vehicles each month.
