The fact that Fiat presently is not in the swing to launch anything new, except the Avventura. Skoda Yeti Facelift Details Revealed

As the launch of Skoda Yeti facelift is just around the corner and a pre-test drive for the exclusive media houses were arranged, details started sneaking out of the closed book.

Skoda’s major change with this SUV is going to remain with the cosmetic rather than with a drastically done technical makeover. Frenetically, the Skoda remains a major provider of the customer-centric cars that tends to fall upon with some of the best driving dynamics. The new SUV too isn’t going to be an exception.

In the facelift avatar, the Yeti is tend to be made available for the top-end Elegance trim only, provided with the front wheel and all-wheel drive option.

Skoda Yeti Facelift Details Revealed

Slight major changes over the bumpers that are making them more aggressive than before is noticeable, new ORVMs, fresh set of alloys, colour options for the roof, bi-xenon headlamps and LED taillamps are some other dramatic plaques to the model.

Though, the interior was one the major drawback last time that was needed to get changed instantly. For the comfort, keyless entry, electrically operational ORVM and climate control are given away. The cosmetics were adorned by leather seats & steering wheel, and an eight speaker audio system. Safety is refined to the extent, ABS, EBD, cruise control, brake assist, ESP, hill-hold, and tyre-pressure monitor doing their best to deliver the contenting drive.

Under bonnet, there’s the carried-over 2.0L TDI diesel engine pouring out the 108.5bhp for the front wheel drive variant and 138bhp to the all-wheel drive, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Though, the pricing is all to decide the fate of Yeti facelift, while it’s believed the feature list shall have extended more to complement the only-in-top-end-spec strategy.

Is Skoda Yeti Facelift Ready To Impress?

Skoda Yeti, didn’t profound its enthusiastic set of buyers after the launch in 2011, is now about to get fresh lease of life with the facelift getting launched soon. It is quite safe to utter it failed to appeal masses despite selling the customer centric cars for ages.

It isn’t ominously the pricing factor and the brand value that this Czech-based automaker fallen short on. Aiding to its woes were also the after-service math that shied away many onlookers due to its poor quality. The bad experience on the digital platform concerned the focus of customer extensively on one more locus. Despite having the amazing off-road qualities assisted by two engine options it tattered away the patrons to a different brand for their sophisticated off-road needs.

The 2011 Yeti was launched in India with options of 4×2 and 4×4 having power options of 110PS and 140PS respectively.

Skoda Yeti Facelift

Listing down the fallacies that the Skoda encountered with its SUV, certainly there surfaces three major hunchbacks that turned around the cashing pointers untowardly. Firstly, the ambitions pricing, it managed Skoda to get away many buyers empty handed from its showrooms in the time when the others were selling their products for a distinctly lesser price tag. Icing on the spilled cake was the scanty features provided in the cabin. The engagement then got broken for those who once thought of spending that huge chunk and betting on Skoda in this segment. Thirdly, the poor quality interiors damaged the Indian buying mentality immensely and let the carmaker roll off its dices as soon as possible from the SUV game.

Though, late is never too late, and the automaker wanted to scale down water for another time, the Yeti facelift that’s about to launch this month shall at least get those mistakes right from the first day. And delighting the customer base by reversing them from the bad past experience the VW-owned automaker shall also improve the service quality and rebuild the brand with new values.

Fist is opened about the new Yeti and certainly revealed the updates included only of alloys, headlamps and front grille. Otherwise, the interiors wasn’t changed that noticeably which it was desired for. The partly-fair-and-partly-unfair, Yeti facelift only has the last ace trump card to play is the pricing, which it must do it rightly. Because of the quite renowned trending SUVs among the class, audience had became quite conscious to the products and their rooting. Undoubtedly, as said above the Skoda is well-versed for producing the customer-centric cars, Yeti facelift shall also be raised on that focus too.

Hence, sneak out the good-luck charm from the books and hand it over to Skoda so that its visions and strategies relative to Yeti branding shall not fail once again just like the company’s own image, couldn’t get better even after launching its new logo and new models.

New Skoda Fabia Revealed

New Skoda Fabia that met with the least demand and faced discontinuation in India, is now virtually unveiled in an all new avatar ahead of the 2014 Paris Motor Show.

Hopefully, the new design is quite radical and is also escalated of the oomph curves. The minute details revealed, this car would be scaling the length under 4-meter. The height is ducked comparatively and the boot space is also reported to be enhanced. Accordingly, the cabin space too is enhanced.  As based on the Volkswagen’s PQ26 platform, this hatchback share the same platform with the new Polo revealed this year.

Skoda Readying Yeti Facelift For India: Spy-Shots

Skoda Yeti, not the big-selling SUV, is reported of getting a facelift in India soon.

It remains an undaunted fact Skoda unveiled the Yeti facelift at Delhi Auto Expo 2014 earlier this year. Czech originated carmaker seems to be readying India-spec version as spotted testing the facelifted SUV in the country – minus camouflages.

Yeti facelift in international market is available in two variants, a standard ‘City’ version and a more beefy ‘Outdoor’ version. The one which was unveiled at Auto Expo was the Outdoor version and the spy-shot taken is also of the same.

The changes happened to be seen on the Yeti facelift are more sophisticated on frontal attire as attained by a wider grille, more angular headlights and a different front bumper. Thankfully, the round hounded fog lamps are gone from the package which earlier was taking away all the glam-sham of the product. From the rear, Yeti looks sharper with revised tail gate and tail lights adorned with slight distinctive glasshouse.

Skoda Readying Yeti Facelift For India Spy-Shots

On the feature list, it is likely to go with the keyless entry and go system, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control and rear view camera. Changes to the cabin will be restricted to a new three-spoke steering wheel and colours for the plastics.

Under the bonnet, the new Skoda Yeti SUV will continue to get its power from the 2.0-litre turbo-diesel in two states of tune. The 108bhp version will be provided with traction on front-wheels. The other version will the more powerful (and expensive) with all-wheel-drive and 138bhp. Both engines will be solely available with manual gearboxes. Possibly, there are also certain rumours of the new Skoda SUV to be having a 1.4-litre TSI turbo-petrol motor in the future.

Hence, the newness pinches the pocket harder with no exception to Yeti facelift. A price hike of 7-8 percent can be speculated. Hope so, Rs 15.5-19 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) will be the bracket.
