11th Edition of the Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm rally to start from 18th February 2013

Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm, which is one of the most awaited off-road events in India, has been flagged off from New Delhi on February 18th 2013. India’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) is one of the forerunners when it comes to organizing and conducting off-roader events like Raid De Himalayas, Auto Cross, Desert Storm and Dakshin Dare. The 2013 will be the 13the edition of the extremely popular off road motor sporting event in the country, Desert Storm.

The Maruti Suzuki Desert storm will be a six day event that will be witnessing Indian off roader enthusiasts struggling and conquering the tricky and challenging terrain of Thar Desert in Rajasthan. The exciting event is expected to host about 275 motor sporting enthusiasts from all over the country in its entire stretch. The national capital, New Delhi will be serving as the starting point to trigger off the event. The Desert Storm rally race will be covering over 2,500 kms over challenging and demanding terrain filled with high octane actions. Rally will pass through an exciting set of terrains that includes that of Bikaner, Chittorgarh, Jaisalmer, Pokharn, Gajnaur and Lakshmangarh. After the six day of adrenaline packed action on the nerve wrenching terrain, this off road adventure will end on February 23rd 2013 at Jaipur.

2013 Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm

Every year, Desert Storm takes test of the Indian driver’s ability and capability to dominate over any uncertain, tricky and demanding terrain with their own Sports Utility Vehicles. The 11th Desert storm rally race will witness motor sports enthusiast in their four wheelers, two wheelers and ATVs (All Terrain Vehicles) competing against each other in their respective categories. The 11th edition is all set to bring in some change for the participants. The new edition will be organized in 5 competitive race stages that will also include two night races also. According to the experience, endurance and driving skill sets Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm has been divided into four segments, namely Xtreme, Moto, Ndure and Xplore. All of these segments are designed to check the driver’s ability to transverse through rough and complex off road terrains of Rajasthan. This race will let driver to take their machines up to their full capability.
