2012 Volvo XC60 launched in India

Volvo has launched its all-new SUV, the 2012 Volvo XC60 for the Indian markets. Powering this SUV is a 3-cylinder diesel engine with a power output of 163PS and a max torque of 400NM. It comes with an all wheel drive system and looking at the torque figures we can tell it is tuned for off-roading. A 6-speed automatic transmission will bring the power to its wheels.

The Audi Q7 and BMW X3 are assembled in the plants in India. While the Volvo plans not to assemble the XC60 in its plant in Bangalore, rather it will come completely build to the Indian market. The prices of this SUV start from Rs.34.4 lacs and the top range model is available at Rs37.4 lacs. Will this SUV survive the Indian market amongst its European competitors?
