2013 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 sets a new lap record at Laguna Seca by beating new SRT Viper

Recently Motor Trend placed 2013 Chevrolet Corvette and 2013 SRT Viper GTS against each other. It was quite surprising to find out that Corvette narrowly managed to surpass the SRT Viper to walk as the winner of the competition. Motor Trend also called pro Driver Randy Pobst to compete the two machines around Laguna Seca. Pobst managed to get a time of about 1:33:70 from ZR1 beating the older record of about 1:33:99, which was set up by Chriss Winkler some three years ago. Winkler crossed the track in a 2010 Dodge Viper ACR.

Pobst was able to grab about 1:35:77 from SRT Viper GTS staging it as the sixth fastest car Motor Trend has ever put at Laguna Seca. It was not quite surprising as SRT is far quicker than the Lexus LFA, Nissan GT-R and Ferrari 458 Italia.

It didn’t came as a surprise as the SRT brand boss, Ralph Gilles said on Twitter that there is still more to come from the car, he further said that Randy always struggled with Viper.
